What’s First Conditional?

The First Conditional is a way to talk about real and possible situations in the future.
It’s like saying: “If this happens, that will happen.”

We use it when we believe something is likely to happen.

Use First Conditional when you’re:

or

Giving Warnings or Threats

or

Making Plans or Decisions

If we finish our homework, we will go to the park.

You just need two main parts:

If + Present Simple, Will + Base Verb

Basic structure:

Reversed structure:

You can swap the order of the clauses without changing the meaning.

Always use the present simple after if — never “will”.
